1. Who we are
This website is published by L'AGENCE ("we", "us"), based in the United Arab Emirates. We decide what happens to the information described here, which makes us the data controller for it.
For anything about your information, write to privacy@lagence.team.
2. What this policy covers, and what it does not
This policy covers this website only: the pages at lagence.team, the application you send through "Join L'AGENCE", the messages you send through "Contact us", the newsletter you can ask for with your application, and the analytics that tell us which pages people read.
It applies to nothing else. It is not the privacy policy for membership of L'AGENCE, for any venture, engagement or programme that may follow an application, or for any other product or service of L'AGENCE or an affiliated company. Those have their own terms and their own privacy notice, which you will be given before they apply.
3. What we collect
When you apply. Your name, work email, phone number and LinkedIn profile, or a personal website if you are not on LinkedIn. Where you work now, or your academic institution. The country you are based in. Your answers about what you bring: your discipline and experience, the industries you know, who you can reach, your availability, and whether you would lead a venture. If you apply for a startup, an organisation or a government entity, your role there and your answers about it. Anything you write in an "Other" field or a note. From your answers we record a few internal tags (for example which of our programmes might suit you), so we can route your application to the right person.
While you fill it in. Your answers are kept in your own browser, on your device, until you send them or choose Start again. That is so you can close the form and come back. They are not sent to us until you press Send. Sending, or Start again, clears them.
When you ask for our newsletter. Your name and email address, only if you tick the box.
When you write to us. Your name, your email address, the subject you choose and your message, and your phone number with its country code if you give them.
When you simply read the site. Pages you visited, how you arrived, your browser and device type, and an approximate location from your IP address. This is analytics. It is not tied to your name or email, and where consent is required we do not collect it until you agree (see Cookies).
Automatically, by the servers. Our hosting and delivery providers record standard server logs: IP address, browser identifier, the page requested and the time. This is how a page gets delivered and how attacks get stopped.
What we never collect here. We do not ask for payment details, identity documents or anything about your health on this website. We do not run ads or advertising cookies. We do not buy lists or add data from brokers to what you give us.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. We use as few as we can.
| What | Type | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your unsent application | Local storage, ours | Keeps your answers on your device until you send them or start again | Until you send, start again, or clear it |
lagence-consent | Local storage, ours | Remembers your cookie choice so we stop asking | Six months, then we ask again |
_ga, _ga_RGS16X0KYX | Cookies, Google Analytics | Tell one browser from another so visits are not double-counted | Up to 2 years |
_gcl_ls | Local storage, Google | Kept by Google's analytics script when analytics is on. We delete it when you turn analytics off | Until you turn analytics off or clear it |
Your choice, and how it works. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, analytics stays switched off until you choose Accept: nothing is loaded and no analytics cookie is written before then. Everywhere else, analytics is on and the banner tells you so, and you can switch it off at any time. Either way, Cookie settings at the bottom of every page reopens the choice, and turning analytics off deletes the analytics cookies. We ask again after six months.
Scripts from other servers. Some of our scripts and files load from servers that deliver content for Webflow, our host, and from Cloudflare. Those servers receive your IP address when they do.
Spam protection. Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile. It checks that a message comes from a person rather than a script, and to do that it receives your IP address and information about your browser.
5. Why we use it, and our legal grounds
| What we do | Why | Ground we rely on |
|---|---|---|
| Read your application and reply to it | You asked us to consider you | Steps taken at your request before any agreement; our legitimate interest in answering applications |
| Read your message and reply to it | You wrote to us | Our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us |
| Keep your answers so we can come back to you when something fits | That is what an application to a network is for | Our legitimate interest, balanced against yours, and your consent when you send the form |
| Send the newsletter | You asked for it | Your consent, withdrawable in one click |
| Measure how the site is used | To see which pages work | Your consent where required; otherwise our legitimate interest in running a website that is worth reading |
| Keep the site up and keep spam out | To keep the service working and safe | Our legitimate interest in security |
You can withdraw consent at any time. It does not undo what happened before you withdrew it.
6. Who else sees it
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of service providers who process it on our instructions:
| Provider | What they do for us | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Webflow | Hosts this website and receives the messages you send through Contact us | Server logs, and everything you write in the contact form |
| Cloudflare | Serves some of our scripts, checks the contact form for spam, and passes your application on to Airtable | Technical request data, IP address. Your application passes through without being stored |
| Airtable | Stores the applications we receive | Everything you send in the application |
| Analytics, only with consent where required | Analytics events; IP address and browser data | |
| Google Workspace | Our email, including the notification we receive when you write to us | Your message and your contact details, and any email you send us |
| MailerLite | Runs the newsletter list and sends the emails, if you asked for it | Your name and email address, and whether you opened a newsletter or clicked a link in it |
People in L'AGENCE who review applications see yours. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
7. Where your information goes
These providers operate internationally, so your information is handled outside the United Arab Emirates and the wider GCC, including in the United States and the European Union. Applications are stored by Airtable outside the GCC. Where information leaves a country whose law restricts transfers, we rely on the transfer safeguards our providers put in place, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
8. How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Unsent answers on your device | Until you send them, start again, or clear your browser |
| An application we take forward | For as long as the relationship runs, then 12 months |
| An application we do not take forward | 24 months from when you sent it, so we can come back to you when something fits, unless you ask us to delete it sooner |
| A message you send through Contact us | 24 months from when you sent it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner |
| Newsletter subscriber | Until you unsubscribe. After that, only your email address stays on a do-not-email list, so we never email you again by mistake |
| Analytics | 14 months in Google Analytics, then deleted |
| Server logs | As held by our hosting providers in the ordinary course |
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to: show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, limit what we do with it, hand it over in a portable form, or stop using it for a particular purpose. You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of every one we send.
Write to privacy@lagence.team and we will answer within one month. We will not charge you for asking, and we will not treat you differently for having asked.
If you think we have got it wrong, tell us first and we will try to put it right. You may also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
10. Children
This website is for working professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to privacy@lagence.team and we will delete it.
11. How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS. Applications go straight from your browser, through our relay, to Airtable. They are not stored on the way. The keys that let the relay write to Airtable are held server-side and never reach your browser. Access to applications and to the newsletter list is limited to the people who need it. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not.
12. Changes
If we change this policy, we will change the date at the top of the page, and for anything significant we will say so on the site. The version on this page is always the one that applies.
